STRATEGY UPDATE | AUGUST 24, 2026

Trading System Signals for August 24, 2026

The 18 System Portfolio extends its drawdown entry alert going into a 27,675 drawdown out of a 61,345 max drawdown based on a closed trade basis and about 54K on an end of day basis.

The Rolling Average Trade Profit for the last 100 Trades has dropped into a cyclical low.
Earlier this month, the portfolio surged. The 18 System Portfolio NQ is +$52,300 after this drawdown for the month of August.

The market has been extremely energetic at the open with the entire day's range for the day session completed in the first 24 minutes of the day session during Monday's trade in the E-mini Nasdaq futures. The market loses energy throughout the day and into the close, challenging direction day trade strategies and favoring option selling strategies right now.

NVDA earnings are tomorrow and Jackson Hole is later this week. This is the last full week of trading while August trade ends on Monday next week with Labor Day the following Monday on September 7, 2026. We continue to anticipate a "second act" for the July 30 - August 4 trade. The market could completely reverse the gains as Citadel has exited 80% of the Situational Awareness holdings, whose liquidation seemed to cause the bottom on July 30. It could also make another move higher.

Enduring sloppy trade while waiting for some tone.
