STRATEGY UPDATE | AUGUST 21, 2026

Trading System Signals for August 21, 2026

The market is determined to go sideways in the afternoon. A quick move lower in the Nasdaq futures was captured with a short on V-Reversal and EVP-1. The market then reversed to take out the morning highs and was then essentially done for the day. Gap up, trade to yesterdays close, trade back to the session highs and then pause.

V-Reversal was down about -$500 on the week but up about $7K on the month.

I thought it was unusual to see such large moves in Bitcoin, Gold, and Silver while the stock indexes went sideways and Bonds returned towards the lows of the week after the Treasury security tried to prevent long term rates from going higher on Wednesday. Bitcoin, Gold and silver are certainly inflationary hedges. Tech stocks have also traded as inflationary hedges.

Next week we have NVDA earnings and Fed speak at Jackson Hole. This could be a market mover.

After today's session the 18 System Portfolio is in a 19.7K drawdown out of a max end of day drawdown of 53,475. This is a drawdown entry alert for this portfolio.

The single trading system opportunity is the same as last week with Open Range 2026. Open Range 2026 is also in the Three System Portfolio while Open Range is int he 18 System Portfolio
