Trade Signals on July 9, 2026

Most of the move higher in the stock indexes was in the overnight session and the first 30 minutes of the day session. After the first 30 minutes of the day session, the Nasdaq 100, dropped 300+ points in 23 minutes, to take out the lows of the day session before spending about 3 hours moving to the highs of the session and then chopping around at the highs and closing slightly above the early morning highs.

V-Reversal was up almost $2500 on the day profiting on the short side early, exiting with a trailing stop loss and then profiting later in the day on the long side with an end of day exit. Yesterday V-Reversal NQ was down about -4200 losing on both the long and short side. The market was about 10 points short of hitting the profit target at the highs of the day after moving over 500 points overall on the session.

The Nasdaq 100 treated 30,000 like a resistance level even though it has traded above those levels just a week ago and has enough energy to violently bounce after a sell off.

We haven't seen a clean Gap Continuation lately and Gap Continuation has triggered fewer trades lately.

Several portfolios held several longs at the end of the day. Another 100 point follow through would have generated a much bigger day.

It will be interesting to see what Friday's session does as the Nasdaq is right in the middle of a consolidation range about 1,100 points from the all-time highs in the futures.
