Trading System Signals for October 6, 2026

The Nasdaq 100 futures finally made new all-time time highs and made a new closing high but seems to have run out of steam. It has been a very tedious rally to get to this level with several noticeable gap ups to make progress at night while the day session has been very "sideways" for the most part. The question of how interest rates will affect the markets. Will higher interest rates eventually overcome the stock bulls or is the stock market a hedge against inflation or is the perpetual money printing causing stocks and interest rates to go higher at the same time. The mid-term elections also seem to create some uncertainty.

All of this with a VIX closing at 14.96 and several short signals that would not follow through to the downside during the day session yesterday while the early trade on Wednesday we see the market moving lower in the overnight session. As a day trader, there are many times when we see the follow through of the net position we had during the day, happen in the overnight session.
