The liquidity driven rally continued as the Nasdaq tied its all-time record of 13 up closes in a row, not seen since 1992.
In 2026, we have seen a market go from one of the more noisy trading ranges to some of the trendiest price action we have seen. The characteristic of the extreme nature of the noise and the trend have been outliers of market behavior. Most investors focus on the direction of the market going up or down. As traders, we focus on trading patterns, market behavior and characteristics, as well as tendencies. The recent market behavior seems to be an outlier on the probability distribution curve.
We benefited greatly from the massive trend earlier in the week with portfolios hitting equity peaks with nice gains on Monday and Tuesday.
The 25 System Portfolio NQ had a $58,555 surge in gains on Monday-Wednesday. It has given back $24,080 in the last two days and generated a good entry alert.
I like portfolios with fast cycles. This market has gone straight up since March 31. Historically there would be more giveback, and a nice counter trend move. Since the counter trend trade is the obvious trade, it may not happen, but the market has been avoiding this obvious counter trend move for a few days now. It is possible there could be more liquidity to drive it even higher. It is difficult to imagine. Maybe this round of bullish liquidity is fully allocated as the Nasdaq 100 futures took out the continuous contract highs today. Maybe Breaking News over the weekend will change the tone.
It's difficult to predict but I do anticipate we will get more two-sided price action soon and will stay with the long-short, trend, counter trend, and mean reversion algorithmic trading approach.
