Micro E-mini S&P and Nasdaq Portfolio Setup

Posted by David Bean on

I am excited to announce a new portfolio as we go into August!

It is the Micro E-mini S&P (MES) and Micro E-mini Nasdaq (MNQ) Stock Index Portfolio. It is the same 30 strategy Stock Index Portfolio that is traded on the E-mini S&P and E-mini Nasdaq but you will trade the Micro E-mini S&P and Micro E-mini Nasdaq instead.

You can simply divide the results from the Stock Index Portfolio by 10 to learn what the hypothetical historical results would have been and potentially project that into the future. There is not enough historical data to back test this portfolio on the micro symbols themselves since they are new but the micro symbols are liquid and trade alongside in sync with the E-mini's and are 1/10th of the size.

The good news about the micros is that you can incrementally compound more quickly.

The Micro E-mini S&P and E-mini Nasdaq is limited to 2 contracts per strategy and can only be traded on the micro symbols. The recommended minimum capital is 25k per micro contract traded. This means that if you trade one contract on each of the 30 algorithms, you should start with at least 25k of capital in your account and anticipate drawdowns of up to 5k or more in your account.
